Con la Madre abbiamo sempre avuto un'insana passione per gli addobbi per qualsiasi festa: fortunatamente prima di arrivare al kitsch siamo riuscite a far confluire la nostra passione-ossessione sui poveri alunni di Madre: dagli alberi di natale di carta agli striscioni di fiori i poveretti sono disperati.
Me and Mother have always had an unhealthy passion for decorating parties: fortunately before turning our passion into something kitsch we concentrated and passed our passion/obsession on Mother's poor students (she's a teacher in elementary school); from paper christmas trees decorations to flower banners, and the students are already going crazy!
Ma fortunatamente per loro quest'anno abbiamo trovato altre vittime sacrificali. Lavorando in biblioteca mi è stato affidato per puro caso, la decorazione di un angolo dedicato ai libri su streghe e halloween. Con Madre allora ci siamo preparate per bene: ore e ore di consulti e navigazioni su internet. Tra le molte cose ho notato le zucchette di carta fatto più o meno come queste.Per farle basta tagliare 8 striscioline larghe circa 2 cm, attaccarne 4 a croce ai loro estremi per creare una sfera aggiungendo le altre striscioline attorno. Luckily(for them) we found new victims on which to experiment on this year. I'm currently working in a library and i have been chosen to prepare the Halloween books corner, filled with books on witches and Halloween in general. I had prepared before hand with Mother: google came to the rescue! Among many things i found those tiny paper pumpkins. To make them, you need to cut 8 strings of paper 2 cm thick, glue 4 in a cross-like way at the edges in order to create a sphere, then you add other stripes on the sides. Fatto sta che mi dico: semplici mo le faccio.
Dopo 3 ore, ne ho sfornate 5, tutte sbilenche. Più che zucche mi sembrano le sfere con cui lavi i reggiseni da mettere in lavatrice. Infatti sapete che il mio pollice del fai da te non è proprio il massimo. Attacco 4 strisce ma una mi sfugge, la recupero, le pinzo tutte assieme e ecco che escono tutte sbilenche.
Qualsiasi entusiasmo è smorzato, perfino il valoroso uomo quando passa a trovarmi e mi dice: "Ma che carine ste zucchette!" viene silurato. Povero valoroso uomo.
Ma soprattutto poveri artigiani che hanno dovuto realizzare il pouf Kiko. Non notate una certa somiglianza? ebbene, ma se io ho dato di matto con una striscia di carta loro come diamine hanno fatto con il legno?So, i saw those pumpkins and i thought: this is really easy! I can make them now!
3 hours later, i made five. But they weren't like the picture. They were like the spheres used for washing bras in washing machine. And you know, I'm not really good with bricolage! But I always try my best! So there I am... I cut 4 strings, paste them, but one doesn't seem to want to stick. So I past them together again, on after the other and then what happens? It all turns out wrong!
Every positive intention I had disappears. Even the valorous man when he comes visiting says: "these pumpkins are so cute!" And he is immediately silenced. Poor valorous man.
